Overland travel is cheapest but takes much longer.
The fastest option you may consider is, by taking a flight from Bangkok International Airport to Hat Yai International Airport, then from Hat Yai, you can take mini van to Padang Besar town and you can cross the international border at the Southern Thailand to Northern Malaysia at Padang Besar Imigration checkpoint.
